Master Sean will come to Lakeway and teach us the famous Ground Monkey form! This is the first of a series of amazing katas that focus on ground techniques, springy athleticism, and fearlessness!

You learn to inhabit the spirit of the monkey animal, how to roll and flip on the ground, and how to fight from every conceivable angle. Be prepared for a fun day and to work hard too!

Story time: Master Sean first taught out this form in San Marcos about 15 years ago. All summer long, he taught it to his brown and black belt students. We did it as a supplemental workout and just because it was fun. The final night, I think we rant through the form 12-15 times in a row! We were exhausted, soaked, and ecstatic. Then we went out for pizza. It was a great time, but we were all glad it was over.

This is a challenge, but a challenge that any student with the spirit of Shaolin can rise up to. Want to find out what's inside you? Come find out.

On another note, let's show up and support my teacher, Master Sean. He's got a school started in Georgetown now, and he is one of the most capable and humble teachers in the entire system of Shaolin-Do.

Wouldn't you like to have a network of teachers coming to teach us new material all the time? We can get that pipeline started now. Get Master Jason from the South Austin School, or maybe even Master Joe from North Austin to teach out occasional seminars to our school? All we have to do is show up. If we support it, and show them we can have a good turnout and be amazing hosts, they'll come. And they will come back.

If we build it, they will come...
